Artist Statement/Bio


Creating art that depicts abstract imagery and subjective emotions, rather then dull and monotonous objective reality. Creating art that challenges people's thinking about art --- art can teach as well as stir human feelings and emotions.

Ron Lukas is a nationally exhibited, published and award winning artist, residing in Southern California. Ron is a native of Chicago. A graduate of the Chicago Public Schools (Laneite), the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Chicago, with a BAE degree and 2 years Graduate study, MAE, in the fields of Art Education, Painting, Drawing, Illustration and Psychology. 

Ron is the recipient of The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, George E. Brown Fine Art Foreign Travel Fellowship, plus 6 years full-time college art scholarships, including the AIC Honorary Masters Degree Scholarship, 5 years AIC HS Raymond Fund art scholarships, and numerous other fine art, commercial art awards and achievements. 

Ron’s experience and capabilities are 30 years plus, making art, as a professional fine artist, art teacher (Chicago and Michigan Public Schools), illustrator, art consultant and a contracted art-creative director, copywriter, photographer --- Creating fine art and commercial art, for a diverse range of business communications, consumer products, (automotive, health, beauty, glamour and entertainment), private art collectors, art galleries, museums and churches.
